Hello, hello! I have been MIA at creating new blog entries, probably since March or April and that is because I have been having too much fun living life, but I thought I would update this page about what has been going on since I last posted!
April 2020

Logan: Thankfully had 80 percent of his flying done so he could sign the incomplete form and was able to continue working on his instrument rating into the summer months, Had to go completely online for his classes, worried about the aviation program shutting down which it did for 2 weeks to sanitize the depot and planes, got sick (not COVID related) and got a bunch of blood tests done to figure out the cause which was being pre- pre- diabetic so he had to change his lifestyle (eating habits), got really into fitness (more so than usual), and had to completely change his school plans (schedule, graduation plan, etc.) Stupid COVID is all I have to say.
Anna: I got really into fitness as well one thing being insanity work outs. Let me be completely honest, Insanity sucks, and at the same time it is awesome. I have never been in better shape than when I was doing insanity. I helped (or tried to help) Logan with his meal planning and prepping, and did several therapy sessions for Post Par-tum Depression. Therapy sometimes gets a bad rap but if you find a therapist that works for you, breakthroughs happen. Therapy taught me so many skills that I still use currently.
Joseph: Started crawling!! Would not let me feed him, he had to feed himself so he started eating table food or I would just put food on a spoon and give the spoon to him. Is the happiest baby, loves to explore, is so curious, and started to say "Dada". I was a little offended seeing as I am with him 24/7. He also stopped nursing and started taking only bottles so we transitioned to formula full time. It was bittersweet, but I recognized an immediate change in my hormones and in my mental health as soon as I stopped breastfeeding so I would say that it was for the best.

May 2020
Family: We took a 30 hour both way Road Trip to Louisiana to see Logan's brother off on the rest of his missionary service to Washington (the state). On the first leg of the trip we stopped for a night in Albuquerque, NM and ate Cheesecake Factory because it was our Anniversary the next day. The second day we stayed the night in Dallas, TX. That hotel room was way cleaner and wayyyy nicer. The third day on the road we made it to Logan's parent's house which we were all ready to be there at that point. Louisiana was a great escape to real life. We played in the pool, went on walks, runs, exercised outside, watched movies, played games, saw Logan's brother's new house, went back on the podcast Outpost of Heaven with his brother and sister in law, and enjoyed the heat and sun but not so much the humidity. On the way home we stopped in Amarillo, TX for a night and then drove 13 hours in one day to St. George, UT to see my little sister Bekah and spend a couple of days with her. Our hotel in St. George was basically brand new so it was amazing, we played at the lake for a day, and then headed home to Logan. In all honesty I hope we never have to drive cross country again, but road tripping had its fun moments, and I will always cherish the memories.

June 2020
Logan: had to spend 2 weeks grounded so in that time he helped me organize a few things in our apartment, finished his online courses for spring semester and started online courses for summer semester. He had to take math summer semester and it was very challenging for him. He doesn't do well in math anyways so having it all online proved to be very difficult and frustrating for him, however, I am pleased to report that he passed the class! He continued working out and eating healthy, was able to start flying again at the end of June, started to take his end of course exams for Utah State Aviation, and prepped for the real End of Course exam and the FAA written exam for the Instrument check-ride.

Anna: I kept exercising although it started getting a whole lot more difficult for me and I couldn't figure out why until I found out I was pregnant on my birthday! We are having another baby!! I started to get morning sickness in the last week of June so stopped exercising for a bit.

Joseph: Is just the sweetest little boy on planet earth. He smiles, laughs and plays with anyone, which could prove worrisome for me (stranger danger). He started standing up in the middle of the room all on his own, walking while holding onto things, totally only eats table food, loves bottles, had the worst time sleeping in our apartment for some reason (he was used to where he slept in Louisiana) and had a hard time getting back on schedule from vacation.

July 2020
Family: Logan's plans to finish his instrument rating in June got pummeled by, you guessed it, COVID so we took a trip to Washington state to help my parents officially move in to their new house. We painted rooms, cleaned blinds and cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, played with cousin Claire and Emmie, celebrated the fourth of July in my Aunt's backyard, had a lot of parties in my Aunt's backyard, jumped on the trampoline, ate good food, I threw up a lot because of morning sickness, and painted some more. It was a wonderful trip up north!

Logan: was able to finish three of his End of Course exams so that he could do the flight portion of the End of Course so that he could finally get moving towards the final end of course exam and FAA written test.
Anna: I struggled with first trimester morning sickness, night sweats and other fun pregnancy problems. Gotta love motherhood. We were able to see the baby for the first time in an ultrasound! I was so grateful Logan got to come because I have been hearing that the dads haven't been able to come to Dr.'s appointments because of COVID.

Joseph: keeps growing and growing, playing with all of his toys, crawling like a race car driver and giggles and laughs and is so curious about everything.
August 2020
Family: We took a weekend trip up to McCall Idaho to celebrate my Grammy and Grumpy's (yes we call my grandpa Grumpy) 50th wedding anniversary. It was so fun to see all of my Aunts and Uncles and cousins on the Farris side (my dad's side). We had so much fun playing games, playing at the lake, doing lip syncs, watching home videos, taking family photos, eating delicious food, and watching a video slide show of Grammy and Grumpy's life together. It was so beautiful and such a great way to end the weekend party.

Logan: finally has the FAA written exam scheduled for instrument and is on his way to scheduling his checkride so we can finally be finished with his instrument rating which he was supposed to finish in the spring. Thanks a lot COVID.

Anna: I am finally starting to feel a bit better which has been magical seeing as in my last pregnancy I was sick all three trimesters. I have been really into crafting, and pickles lately.
Joseph: Started walking all by himself and also is trying to run. Thankfully he still needs to get the hang of his balance so he can't completely run far distances. He still loves to crawl especially if he wants to get places fast and also if he is trying to run away from me when he is doing something he's not supposed to.

September 2020
Logan: Has his instrument check ride scheduled..... for October.... but has been able to start flying for his Advanced Maneuvers rating.
Anna: I have been in the purging mood lately, whether that is because it's back to school and it's that time of year to get organized, or because I am nesting early but we have our whole house upturned to go through things and really try to simplify. I have also been craving grapefruit. The fruit, the juice, the flavoring, the smell, all things grapefruit. I was able to feel the baby kick for the first time and it has eased my worries about this pregnancy a great deal. And last but not least I am so ready for fall.
Joseph: His birthday is coming up on September 17 and I cannot believe that he is turning one this month! He is my sweet baby and I am so sad but also so excited. His little personality is coming out and it is just the best. He loves to tell me "Ya" and talk about his "Dad" and loves to play peek a boo, read stories, sing with mom, eat Macaroni and Cheese, and open every drawer in the house. His favorite toys lately are the spatulas from the kitchen.
It has been a very long fun summer and we have had so many adventures that I will cherish forever. JOY can be found in the mundane moments, in the fun moments, in the hard moments, and in the tired moments. Life is so full of JOY and light and love if only we choose to look for it.

Until next time! Keep finding JOY in living!
